Hospital Compliance

The Office of Hospital Compliance is committed to the highest standards of conduct, honesty and reliability in our business practice. The Compliance program is designed to help the organization uphold our continued commitment to making proper ethical decisions. Our hospital compliance Team works with individuals throughout the hospital—Tisch, Rusk, HJD, the Clinical Cancer Center and all outpatient locations. We focus on issues brought to our attention and those we identify through risk assessment and routine auditing and monitoring. Our goal is to ensure adherence with Federal, State rules and regulations related to Healthcare reimbursement.
Compliance efforts within the hospital are designed to promote:
- Billing for services that are actually provided, documented appropriately, and correctly coded.
- Billing Medicare, Medicaid, other payors only for services that are medically necessary.
- Reporting suspected incidents of fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Efforts to keep up with ongoing regulatory changes that affect each area.
- Protecting each individual’s right to privacy and confidentiality in the use and disclosure of health information.
Together with departments and individuals throughout the hospital we demonstrate our commitment to honest, responsible, and ethical conduct.
